sandisk we are the video makers [2010]

flavor group sf brought rodenbush on board for their sandisk ugc campaign of tiësto's 'what's next' world tour, conducted during the summer-into-fall months. they required a site that could deliver the tour's promotional audio and video content, while also receiving user-generated video content, via the web, to create his first fan-made video. the site was created utilizing php, xhtml, css, jquery, javascript, flash and htaccess technologies.

the key tasks at hand were:
  • deploy a fully-functional, media-rich landing page to spec from client-supplied, layered-graphic mock-up files.
  • develop an efficient, dynamic, function-driven page structure for quick content modification and rapid display.
  • deliver dynamic content for multiple languages upon browser request as defined by specific urls.
  • validate, feedback, store mysql data, and retreive content from new registrants upon tos agreement.
  • interface host server with cdn for automated conversion of uploaded video to professional and viewable formats.
  • implement a force-downloading mp3 link for the delivery of a promotional track associated with the campaign.
  • develop a jquery-based emulation of the popular shadowbox library to custom-display the site's uploader form.
  • create and display terms of service for governing the use of video content as received from the validated form.
  • develop a back-end control panel for administrative review, rating and system-wide commenting of uploaded clips.
